Introduction to IT Leadership Training
Our Introduction to IT Leadership Development Training focuses on developing leadership skills for people in Information Technology (IT). Participants will learn skills to improve relationships within IT and with business partners. Participants identify their leadership strengths, identify improvement areas and design their own personal development plans. Accountability partners are established to create longer-term accountability for the commitments created during this training.
IT Leadership Development Training
Our IT Leadership Development Training focuses on developing leadership skills for people in Information Technology (IT). Our training is specifically designed to improve and develop leaders in IT organizations where, historically, the best technical people are often promoted to leadership positions without the proper background or training to handle their new responsibilities. Participants will learn skills to improve relationships within IT and with business partners. Participants identify their leadership strengths, identify improvement areas and design their own personal development plans. Through self-evaluation of their leadership performance, participants identify areas impeding their leadership development and create break-through plans to address these. All participants develop mission statements, identify their core values and learn to give / receive feedback. Accountability partners are established to create longer-term accountability for the commitments created during this training.
IT Leadership Development Training & Coaching
Our IT Leadership Development Training & Coaching focuses on developing leadership skills for people in Information Technology (IT). With this offering, we supplement our IT Leadership Training course with two months of individual coaching for each participant that consists of two coaching sessions each month. These sessions create a support system that accelerates processing and application of the lessons from the training. The coaches also hold participants accountable for following through on actions committed to during the training.
Leadership Development Training
In our Leadership Development Training, participants will identify their leadership strengths and improvement areas complete with personal development plans. Participants self-evaluate their leadership performance and identify areas impeding their leadership development. All participants develop mission statements, identify their core values and give / receive feedback. This experiential training uses exercises and processes to support the participant learning.
We created a communication course specifically for people in IT entitled Effective Communication for IT Professionals. This on-site instructor led training focuses on creating communicators who are powerful, effective and professional. Our training melds together basic communication skills with a fundamental understanding of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) that improves effective communication through perceiving and managing emotions. Improving EQ awareness also improves decision-making and conflict resolution. In addition, we introduce concepts of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) that facilitates building connections between people and facilitates improved communication and understanding.
Using interviews and surveys of the employees, I assess the current state of the organization and review this with the leaders in the organization. In collaboration with these leaders, we determine the areas of leadership development that are most important and develop detailed plans to address these areas.
Working with the organization’s leadership, we collaboratively identify the leadership traits that make for a successful leader in the organization. I create a custom ranking tool for the organization that is then used to assess the individuals in the leadership pipeline. This assessment provides a road map for developing each person to enable them to achieve the growth necessary to move to the next level of the organization.
Leadership Development with Individuals / Groups
As a supplement to the Organizational Assessment and Succession Planning, I also offer mentoring and coaching with individuals and/or groups to accelerate development of the skills necessary to successfully build the leadership team needed to move your organization to the next level. We collaborate to develop customized experiential workshops which I facilitate to target the areas identified. Group sessions also focus on developing teamwork amongst participants as a means of creating high performance leadership teams. Sessions are usually conducted once a month for four hours over a period of six months. We then measure the outcomes by conducting a re-assessment using surveys and interviews.
